Psilocybe Subaeruginosa - Australia

All the way from from the land down under comes a very potent psilocybe mushroom. This species has gone under many different species names including psilocybe Australiana. But a few years back a paper was written proving the 4 different species were in fact one species, the Psilocybe Subaeruginosa. Although this is still debated by many as noted in Paul Stamets Psilocybe Mushrooms of the World book. Even the mushroom hunter from Sydney who has been hunting these for years thought he was sending us 2 different species. From one area of Sydney he sent us a strain that grows larger fruits then the other strain which grows more dense smaller fruits and he believes, more potent fruits.

Some people consider this a sister species to the psilocybe cyanescens and psilocybe azurescens. They do bear a considerable resemblance and color. As well this species is said to be very potent like these other 2 famous psilcybe mushrooms. As well the Psilocybe Subaeruginosa mushrooms is a somewhat heavy spore depositor. Our mushroom hunting friend in Sydney tells is this species tends to grow in woody debris mulch around bushes, again similar to ps. cyanescens. We do not have confirmation yet if this species will only grow on woody debris but it certainly will fruit on various woods. It's most commonly found in woody debris around Eucalyptus and Nothofagus trees. In Sydney this species tends to fruit in the fall and winter months also being a cold weather species like azurescens and ps. cyanescens, which fruit around 55 F. This species is very sought after in Australia as it's becoming widely spread through gardens and forest clearings and along the sides of roads. My friend from Australia tells me it's very potent and has brought many good times to him and friends.
For now we only have spore prints of this species which the spores are dark purple brownish in color. We hope to have spore syringes in the future.

These Subaeruginosa mushrooms are very large and resemble the wavy capped psilcybe cyanescens

As you can see the spores are tightly grouped together so chances are you will be getting several spore prints with each order :). Provided you live in an area that it is legal to grow psilocybin mushrooms like New Mexico, please send in your photos when you are successful with this species. Thank You.
